Red Fox

The Red Fox is a mobile home on wheels inspired by western caravans or gypsy wagons. It was made entirely by hand here at Poggio Diavolino from raw wood for the structure and wrought iron for the raised terrace with veranda. The wooden wheels are entirely handmade and date from the last century.

The gypsy caravan is a 6x3m studio with a raised French bed (190x140cm) so that the space underneath can be used as a closet for clothes and suitcases. There is also an opening armchair bed where the third guest can sleep. In the same space is a bistro table with antique Thonet chairs, a large glass French window overlooking the valley. The kitchen is equipped with two ceramic glass burners, a stove hood, and a refrigerator with a freezer section. Red Fox guests will find salt, sugar, coffee to welcome them; as well as dishes, pots, plates, glasses all strictly red. There is no oven or microwave. The bathroom has a sink, 120x70cm shower, bidet and toilet.

The raised wrought-iron terrace allows guests to fully enjoy the nature surrounding the Red Fox, in fact it is like having an extra room outdoors. A small table, chairs and sun loungers are available to guests.

The floor, walls, and ceiling of the tiny house have been carefully insulated, so the Red Fox is cool in summer and warm in winter. There is, however, air conditioning and a heated towel rack in the bathroom, which allow an ideal temperature to be reached quickly in both summer and winter.

The red tones of the ceiling, the structure of the curtains and upholstery, the warm color of the ash wood bed, and the numerous paintings depicting the fox all contribute to a magical and unforgettable atmosphere. The gypsy wagon with its cozy volumes and careful details makes it possible to spend a few days of relaxation in a unique and characteristic environment.

Just 2km from the village of Suvereto, Volpe Rossa is located in the Maremma countryside 15km from the beaches of Baratti and the rocky coastline of the promontory of Piombino. The cottage is immersed in the quiet and silence of the fields and woods of Poggio Diavolino, but still in a privileged position to visit the many historical and tourist sites in the area.
