Description of the Blue Peacock gipsy caravan
The Blue Peacock is a small house on wheels made entirely of wood and inspired by gypsy carts or circus wagons. It is immersed in the nature and tranquility of the Tuscan countryside of Suvereto, a charming medieval village part of the most beautiful villages in Italy and located just a few minutes’ drive from the sea.
The Blue Peacock was made entirely by hand and measures 18sqm. Despite its small size, it is equipped with all the comforts of a modern studio apartment. There is a French bed (140x190cm) and a single sofa bed. In total it can therefore accommodate 3 people. The space under the bed can also be used as a closet, as well as a cabinet next to the sofa. For meals there is a bistro table with original Thonet chairs dating from the beginning of the last century.
The kitchen is small but equipped with everything needed for cooking: there are two glass-ceramic burners, extractor fan and a refrigerator with an icebox section. Pots, dishes, salt, sugar and coffee are provided. Oven and microwave are not available. The bathroom is equipped with a sink, shower, toilet and bidet.
Outside the caravan house has a large wrought-iron covered terrace with chairs and small table. There are also sun loungers and a jasmine pergola. The wheels that decorate the cottage are original and date from the early 1900s. Completely handmade, they are evidence of the craftsmanship and skill of the artisans of yesteryear.
The Blue Peacock has air conditioning, which can also be used as a heater in winter, along with the bathroom’s heated towel rack. The room is small and the walls are made of wood, so the coach cools and heats up very quickly.
The Blue Peacock—as the name implies—is dedicated to the color blue and the peacock. Each guest enters a micro-world of shades of blue and green, the colors that characterize this noble bird. The wooden structure, as well as the upholstery, curtains, dishes, etc. are all in shades of blue. The peacock is also present everywhere: in the wallpaper, in the pattern of the curtains, but especially in the numerous paintings hanging on the walls. All are authentic works: oil on canvas, watercolors and graphics dedicated to this beautiful animal. Staying in this meticulously maintained wooden wagon is a unique experience while fully enjoying the magical atmosphere of this universe dedicated to blue peacocks.
